This top Croatian wine, which could be confused with Cabernet (it is really a relative of the Zinfandel grape), has something for everyone. Ripe dark berries (blackberry, black current, dark cherry). Earthiness, tobacco, some exotic spice in the end (like allspice but very mild). Full and well-integrated body and smooth tannins.
The wine is made from carefully selected grapes of the variety Plavac Mali, which have ripened in Zlatan's oldest (over 50-year old) vineyards, located on premium sites on the southern slopes of the Hvar Island. The average yield is approximately 0.5 kg per vine. The maceration of grapes lasts for 8 days. The wine matures for one and a half years in new barriques, and for another half a year in bottles.
