Zlatan Plenković (Zlatan Otok)
Zlatan Plenković, who started as a poor fisherman on Hvar, ended up transforming basic socialist-era wines into internationally acclaimed expressions that put Croatian wine on the world map. His sons now run the show, but we will always remember him holding court in front of Bilo Idro restaurant and inviting us over for a glass.
