It’s no secret that Merlot likes clay soils. What’s not so well known is that a tiny 3ha peninsula, made up of clay and sand, at the southernmost tip of Istria gives it an exceptional home. The grapes grow literally at sea level imparting a wonderful saltiness and minerality to the wine.
