Created in 1921 at the El Floridita in Havana for Ernest Hemingway, and improved by our friend Andreas Schneider in Singapore, this is the perfect refreshing drink to have on the Equator. Mr. Hemingway himself still holds the house record for downing 16 of them in one sitting, but we’d advise you start with one and go from there.
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
In case you’re not Mr. Hemingway and like your drinks sweet add some sugar syrup to taste.
Fill the glass with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a twist of grapefruit peel.
