Piquentum Refošk 2020
A chance meeting in Sri Lanka led us to a WW2 bunker where we fell in love with with Dimitri's wines. The half-French, half-Croatian winemaker is uncompromising in his quest to find the true character of the grapes and soil of Istria. The fruit for his Refošk is grown organically around the hamlet of Vrh, hand harvested, and spontaneously fermented. Bottled unfiltered after spending 18 months in oak, the result is full-bodied, earthy, with ripe fruit and spicy undertones.
