Black Summer Truffles (Tuber Aestivum) have a delicate flavor and aroma, with hints of earthiness, hazelnuts, chocolate, and vanilla. The flavour develops as the season progresses from May to September. If you're looking for a more intense flavor we recommend using them with our Tartufata gourmet truffle spread, included complimentary with each order of fresh summer truffles.
Fresh truffles are best eaten as soon as you get them, but they will last you for a week if you keep them in an airtight container in the fridge on a bed of uncooked rice to absorb moisture.
We will do our best to match your ordered weight as closely as possible, but we're dealing with mother nature here and may need to make a slight adjustment depending on the exact sizes of the individual pieces.
