Benmosche Family Zinfandel 2017
Bob Benmosche didn't do anything halfway. The former CEO of MetLife and savior of AIG fell in love with Dubrovnik and became obsessed with bringing Zinfandel, the near extinct Croatian variety, home. He partnered with the legendary Bura-Mrgudić family to plant 1,500 vines from Napa above the village of Viganj where they discovered a single original Tribidrag (aka Zinfandel) vine still alive. The grape's journey was complete.
WHAT IT TASTES LIKE
Rich, full-bodied, and layered with dark cherry, blackberry, and warming spices, it balances California's bold fruit-forward style with the mineral complexity of Croatian terroir.
