Limited edition first harvest organic olive oil that was born, born to be wild
Olio nuovo is the first extra virgin olive oil to be released each year, fresh pressed from hand-picked olives in the first few days of the harvest and available only for a short time. Unlike regular extra virgin olive oil, it is bottled directly as it comes from the spigot in all its raw glory, complete with all the solids.
Its aromas are intense and deliciously fresh. In the mouth it behaves wildly, its intense grassy flavors are balanced by a creamy, buttery mouthfeel and an exciting woosh of pepperiness on the finish. In short, olio nuovo is olive oil in its most intense raw state.
It is so prized by people in Istria that they come from the cities to the mills to attend new harvest fiestas and buy a few precious bottles of olio nuovo for their homes. 100 bottles of this limited edition beauty are now in Singapore, and once they're gone they're gone for the season.
How to enjoy it
One of our favorite ways to savor this once-a-year treat is to do as the Istrians do! Grill thick slices of bread until crisp and toasty, pour your fresh olio nuovo all over the bread then add a few pinches of coarse sea salt. Pour a glass of wine and enjoy! It’s also delicious mixed over a sliced steak, it’s perfect for spicing up roasted veggies and it’s a fantastic finishing oil for soups, pastas and more.
