This is a different kind of Milo than many in Southeast Asia have grown up with. Named after Denis' late father, it is a Plavac Mali from a single vineyard site in the interior of the Pelješac peninsula. Its stingy sandy soil only yields half a kilo of grapes per vine, but what grapes they are! Fermented with native yeasts and refined in neutral oak, it is a smooth expression of Plavac with softer tannins but still plenty of that signature Mediterranean character. Dark fruits, white pepper, tobacco and yes, even a hint of chocolate on the finish.
PAIRS WELL WITH
Try it with duck confit, a roast rack of lamb at Le Bon Funk, or contemplating the wisdom of generations.
