Long before the Caribbean, pirates called the many small coves and inlets along the Adriatic home. Venetian, Ragusan and Papal ships either paid them tributes for safe passage or faced the consequences. We don't know what they drank, but are pretty sure any medieval pirate would've been very pleased to capture a booty of this gem.
