Tomac Amfora Traminac 2017
Clay amphorae are a rudimentary tool, but in the right hands can produce extremely elegant wines. Such is the case with Tomislav Tomac and this Traminac (Gewürztraminer) from the Brisnica vineyard which spent six months fermenting in Georgian amphorae, and another 13 months in old oak. Extremely limited production, one of the most distinctive Traminers ever made in the region.
WHAT IT TASTES LIKE
Bitter orange marmelade, dried tropical fruit, cardamom and pepper unfold gradually accompanied by grippy, tea-like tannins.
